Last year, Makerere finished second overall with 68 medals—21 gold, 20 silver, and 27 bronze. This year’s strong showing in swimming alone demonstrates their determination to reclaim the overall championship.
According to Makerere University's sports tutor, Brian Miiro, the team is focused on ending the seven-season drought since their last overall trophy win in 2008. With this exceptional performance in swimming, they are optimistic about their chances of emerging as overall champions.
