Game 4
The JT Lady Jaguars advanced to their maiden National Basketball League Playoffs Finals after completing a 3-0 sweep over Magic Stormers with a 59-43 win in Game Three played at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Thursday night.
Rhoda Naggita and Brenda Kayaga led the scoring with 14 points each, while Mercy Batamuliza and Sarah Ageno dominated the boards with 20 and 14 rebounds respectively.
Angela Auma also added 11 points to the tally.
Magic Stormers started strong, taking an early lead before Kayaga’s two three-pointers turned the momentum in Jaguars’ favour. Auma’s buzzer-beating three-pointer closed the first quarter at 15-14.
The Stormers suffered a setback when Kur Ajah was carried off injured, and the Jaguars took a slim lead into halftime. After the break, turnovers from the Stormers proved costly, allowing Naggita to extend the lead from the free-throw line.
In the final quarter, the Jaguars’ defence stood firm, restricting the Stormers to only six points to seal a comfortable 16-point win and progress to their first-ever NBL Finals appearance.
