Kyotera District and Buvuma District will face off in the U12 netball final at this year's National Primary Ball Games in Mubende District, after both sides secured victories in their respective semi-finals.
Kyotera booked their place in the final after overcoming Rakai District 30–21, while Buvuma produced an impressive performance to eliminate defending champions Mityana Municipality 31–14.
The result ended Mityana's hopes of retaining the U12 netball title, with the defending champions now turning their attention to the battle for bronze.
Mityana Municipality head coach Santino Manduti said his team gave their best but acknowledged that Buvuma were the better side on the day.
"We came as defending champions and we wanted to win this trophy. However, it is unfortunate that we lost. We are looking forward to fighting for a third-place finish," Manduti said.
Mityana Municipality will face Rakai District in the third-place playoff, with both teams aiming to finish the competition on the podium.
The final between Kyotera and Buvuma is expected to provide an exciting contest as the two teams battle for the U12 netball championship.
The National Primary Ball Games are currently underway in Mubende District, bringing together more than 50,000 pupils from across the country.
The participating districts are competing in several disciplines, including netball, football, volleyball, handball, woodball, judo, and kokho.
The games are expected to continue through September 3, with teams fighting for honors in their respective disciplines.
