Cosmas Kyewuta delivered a sensational bowling performance to lead Uganda to a 28-run triumph over Kenya in their third match of the Pearl of Africa T20 Series held Monday at the Entebbe Oval.

Uganda won the toss for the third time in the tournament, with captain Juma Miyaji once again opting to field. The team posted a competitive 157/5 in 20 overs, despite an early wobble.

Opener Shrideep Mangela departed for 17 after being dismissed by Peter Langat, and Ronald Lutaaya fell for a duck to Sachin Gill, leaving Uganda on shaky ground. But a crucial third-wicket partnership between Robinson Obuya (40) and Raghav Dhawan (41) revived the innings, setting a solid foundation for Dinesh Nakrani (24)* and Miyaji (19) to capitalize in the final overs.

Uganda’s defense started with a bang, thanks to veteran spinner Frank Nsubuga, who claimed Kenya’s first three wickets and piled on early pressure.

However, Rakep Patel’s arrival steadied the chase. The Kenyan batter played with flair and innovation, notching up 58 off 48 balls and threatening Uganda’s grip on the game.

Kenya crossed the 100-run mark, and the contest tightened. Miyaji brought Kyewuta back into the attack in the 18th over, a strategic move that paid off instantly. Kyewuta bowled out Patel with his very first delivery, then struck again to remove Gill, thrusting Kenya into trouble.

He sealed the match by bowling out Yaraj Kundi, rounding off a brilliant spell. Though Shem Ngoche remained unbeaten, Kenya ran out of balls, handing them their first defeat of the series.

With wins over Nigeria, the UAE, and now Kenya, Uganda remains unbeaten in the tournament, their momentum growing with every match.
