Tony Kisadha and Katy Kabenge scored 41 and 34 Stableford points in the men’s and ladies’ categories, respectively, to win the Central Region Seniors Golf Tournament at Entebbe Club.
They were on October 31, 2026, among 110 participants in the final seniors’ regional event of the year, following earlier tournaments in Mbarara and Tororo. The planned fourth event at West Nile Club in Arua was cancelled due to Ebola concerns.
Kisadha credited his strong performance to improved putting, which returned just in time for the championship.
“I played here yesterday; I couldn't putt. I missed so many putts yesterday, and I came today, and I'm sinking every putt. I missed like three or four birdies, but today was a very different day,” Kisadha said.
“Many people were complaining about the greens. I wondered if we were playing on different greens because they played so well today,” Kisadha bragged.
“It is a wonderful trophy to receive tonight. I played with great people, including Jim Muhwezi. I always come here to enjoy myself and the company of colleagues, so winning is a bonus,” Kisadha stated.
Kabenge was seeking redemption after a disappointing performance on the same course two weeks earlier.
“I played here two weeks ago, and I had a very disastrous round, so today I came to prove a point because of what I scored last time,” Kabenge said.
“I didn't start well, but I managed to make several pars that improved my score. I thank God, as it was not due to anything special, I did. I also want to thank everyone who made this possible,” Kabenge stated.
Jim Muhwezi led the gold category (75-79 years) with 29 points, ahead of Patrick Kabonero (25) and Arthur Gakwandi (24). In the silver category (65-74 years), David Balaka (36), Matata Onyango and Fred Kasumba were the top performers.

Venny Birusha (37), Elijah Luutu (31) and Joseph Bagabo (29) were the leading players in the bronze category (55-64 years) at the one-day event, which was supported by Gauff Engineering and UMC Hospital.
In the ladies’ gold category (65+ years), Regina Ddamulira (30), Connie Mukuru (29) and Gertrude Kityo (28) were the top performers, while Grace Kabonero posted the highest score in the silver category (55-64 years) with 22 points.
