KCCA FC continued their resurgence in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) with a comfortable 2-0 victory over newcomers Ntugasaze FC at Kira Road Arena in Kamwokya on Tuesday, securing their third consecutive win.
Captain Herbert Achayi opened the scoring in the first half with a freekick that Ntugasaze goalkeeper Tony Atugonza deflected into his own net before second-half substitute Emmanuel Anyama added the second in the 88th minute assisted by Filbert Obenchan to seal a deserved victory for the Kasasiro Boys.
The result followed identical 1-0 wins over Kataka FC and URA FC, marking a significant turnaround for head coach Brian Ssenyondo’s side after a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign.

KCCA collected just one point from their opening three matches, suffering 2-0 defeats against NEC FC and Express FC before playing out a goalless draw with Kigezi HomeBoyz.
However, the three successive victories have restored confidence in the team as they seek to close the gap on the league leaders.
Despite being pleased with the result, Ssenyondo expressed concern over his players’ failure to convert the numerous chances they created, insisting that the team should have scored more goals.
“We performed well today, but our only problem is still not burying the chances we create. For example, we should have finished the first half with at least two or three goals, but we wasted the chances,” said Ssenyondo.
KCCA now have 10 points from six matches and sit fifth in the standings, three points behind leaders BUL FC.

BUL were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Lugazi FC at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Tuesday, giving the chasing pack an opportunity to reduce the gap at the top.
League action continues on Wednesday with two fixtures. Police FC will host SC Villa at Kira Road Arena, while NEC FC travel to western Uganda to face fellow newcomers Kigezi HomeBoyz at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge District.
