Caleb Kakuyo and Gloria Mbaguta shot 68 and 73, respectively, to top the Uganda Golf Club October Monthly Mug golf competition at Kitante on Saturday.
Kakuyo, who the previous day during the ladies' night competition also in the men’s Group C had made the podium, beat 23 other contestants in the same group and over 70 players in the Saturday event to bag another trophy, attributing his recent successes to consistency and regular game time.
“I won even last month. But about three years ago I was an overall winner-senior. I haven’t been playing for some time, but recently I have been very active and trying to catch up,” Kakuyo said.
Gloria Mbaguta's 73 nett won her the overall crown in the ladies division, beating Gloria Nanyonga and Harriet Kitaka, who both scored 78 nett to the top prize.

Andrew Muhwezi and Moses Mukiibi were the best in the men’s Group A, while Rodney Turyatemba (71nett) and Venny Birusha (74) starred in Group B.
Martin Kivumbi was three strokes better than Ian Mutibwa in Group C, as Benard Katehangwa and Katy Kabenge stood out among the seniors. Menon Vivan was the best junior, as Shallom Kembabazi from Kabale Golf Club was the best guest player in the one-day event.
