Kaberamaido Secondary School and St. Thomas Girls Secondary School have reaffirmed their readiness to host the 2025 USSSA Teso Zone Ball Games II, scheduled to take place from June 26 to 30, 2025.

This assurance follows a final inspection of the facilities by the USSSA Teso Zone executive team last Saturday. The delegation, led by zonal chairperson John Robert Osuu, assessed the preparedness of the two host schools—Kaberamaido SS for boys and St. Thomas Girls SS for girls.

James Caleb Ogwang, Head Teacher of Kaberamaido SS, expressed confidence in the schools’ ability to host a peaceful and successful championship. He noted that the institutions are fully prepared to accommodate a large number of participants and showcase the region’s sporting talent over the four-day event.

“We’ve held several planning meetings with the Kaberamaido District leadership to ensure all essential services—accommodation, welfare, medical care, water and sanitation, and administrative support—are in place,” Ogwang said. “I’m proud to announce that both Kaberamaido SS and our co-host, St. Thomas Girls SS, are ready for the championship.”

Ogwang also encouraged visiting teams to collaborate with the local business community to support the event’s success.

Kaberamaido Resident District Commissioner, Linos Lotem Tumkori, assured participants of full security throughout the championship. “We will restrict movement during the night and early morning hours to allow security teams to patrol effectively,” he stated.

The zonal ball games are expected to attract over 4,500 participants, including athletes, coaches, spectators, and other stakeholders from across the Teso region.

Francis Atubo, USSSA Chairperson for Kaberamaido District, confirmed that several nearby institutions have provided playing fields, which are currently being finalized with ground markings.

Atubo also revealed that Kaberamaido will compete in six disciplines this year: Basketball 3v3, Senior Volleyball, Dance Sport, Athletics, Cross Country, Football U16, and Mind Games.
