Kaberamaido Secondary School emerged as the 2026 ball games one champions in football, defeating all other schools in the district.

The boys’ team beat Asone High School 1–0 to claim the title, while the girls’ team secured a similar victory against Midland High School.

The school’s games teacher, James Philip Oketa, expressed his excitement over the results.

“I am happy that we have won the boys’ trophy and retained the girls’ trophy. Our focus is now on the regionals, which will be hosted in Ngora,” Oketa said.

This year’s tournament featured nine girls’ teams and eight boys’ teams from nine schools, with St. Paul Ochero not participating this time.

Francis Atubo, chairperson of the Kaberamaido Secondary Schools Sports Association (KASSSA), praised the peaceful conduct of the tournament.

He confirmed that three boys’ teams, Kaberamaido SS, Asone High School, and Midland High School, will represent the district at the regionals based on their performance.

The four girls’ schools that qualified for the regionals are Kaberamaido SS, Midland High School, Alwa Seed SS, and St. Thomas Girls SS.
