Jinja Senior Secondary School (Jinja SSS) coach Hassan Zungu has warned that he has a good squad of youngsters who are capable of fighting for the title in the national USSSA competition that will be held in Masaka district.

Jinja SSS emerged winners during the Busoga Zone boys USSSA finals that were held at Bukoyo SS on Saturday thanks to three penalty saves from second-half substitute goalkeeper Ivan Kambagambe who came in for Aziz Ssale.

"My players have used a lot of energy to win the regional tournament but we have six days to recover for the national USSSA finals. I now have complete faith in these youngsters who I feel are ready to challenge for the title. Our target is to qualify for the East African competition in Bukedea," Zungu said.

Despite scoring through George Ikwangati and Shakur Luyombo, Isaac Kitakule's men couldn't stop Jinja SSS from lifting their fourth regional crown in seven years after penalties from Emmanuel Kirunda, Brian Owino, and Joel Kigenyi gave them a 3-2 victory.

Under coach Zungu, Jinja SSS lifted the Busoga zone boys finals in 2017,2018,2022 and 2024. Only JIPRA (2015,2016,2019,2023) has shared these titles with Jinja SS.
