Over 9,500 students compete in USSSA Ball Games II in Tororo

At least 9,500 students have gathered at St Peter’s College and Tororo Girls School in Eastern Uganda for the USSSA National Ball Games II and Athletics, running from July 10 to 19, 2025.

The nine-day championships feature 18 disciplines, including Netball, Rugby 7s, Athletics, Basketball 3x3, U16 Football & Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Mind Games, Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer, Woodball, Ludo, Lacrosse, and Dance Sport.

St Peter’s College Tororo earned hosting rights after meeting all requirements. Over 80 netball teams are grouped into eight pools. Defending champions St Mary’s Kitende are in Group A, while Buddo SS and St Noa Girls Zana are in Groups H and D, respectively.

Assistant coach Jane Adeke (Bukedea Comprehensive) aims to reach the knockout stage, while Kitende coach Nouriden Kato says his team will let their performance speak.

Other participating schools include Jinja SS, Greenlight Islamic, Amus College, Rines SS, Mbale SS, Kimanya, and many more from across Uganda.
