In Pool D, KCCA recovered from two sets down to edge Cobra 3-2 in a thrilling contest, while APR and Cobra also went the distance in another five-set battle that kept the group wide open.
The remaining ties, including KCCA against KCB Nkumba, are set to determine who secures progression.
Pool C saw Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) dominate Twic Mayardit with a straight sets 3-0 victory after Rwanda National Police had earlier opened their campaign against the South Sudanese side. The awaited clash between RNP and VVC will now play a key role in shaping the standings.
In Pool B, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) staged a stirring comeback from two sets down to beat Kampala University 3-2 before the university side hit back with a 3-0 sweep against Seroma. Those results left both teams well in contention, with RRA’s duel against Seroma expected to be decisive.
Over in Pool A, KAVC-A made a strong start, sweeping Cobap VC 3-0, while KAVC-B also lined up to face the same opponents ahead of their all-KAVC showdown.
The men’s category was equally competitive. Pool D opened with Equity cruising past Kampala University in straight sets, highlighted by a marathon 31-29 second set.
St Charles’ Ntinda then battled back from two sets down to beat KAVC-Alpha 3-2, showing resilience before returning to defeat Kampala University 3-0. Equity later extended their dominance with another 3-0 win over KAVC-Alpha, leaving their meeting with St Charles as the likely group decider.

Rukinzo later turned heads with a shock 3-0 triumph over APR before returning to dismantle the Cubs by the same margin. KCCA also added to their tally by defeating the Cubs 3-1, making their looming clash with APR critical for qualification.
Pool B served up some of the tournament’s longest duels. Chema VC edged Rwanda National Police 3-2 in a five-set thriller before sweeping aside Twic Mayardit 3-0. REG also eased past Twic in straight sets but fell in another marathon to Rwanda Police, who triumphed 3-2 before later sweeping Twic 3-0. With Chema, REG, and Rwanda Police all still in contention, the final group fixtures will be decisive.
Pool A belonged to the hosts KAVC-Chazpir, who opened with a commanding 3-0 victory over SKY VC. Police Uganda, however, were forced into a nerve-wracking five-setter against the same opponents, eventually prevailing 3-2. The much-anticipated clash between Chazpir and Police will determine who tops the pool.
The tournament, running from September 12–14, has lived up to its billing, with both men’s and women’s pools producing nail-biting contests and setting up dramatic conclusions to the group stages.
