Ibrahim Lubega wins in Busiika but Ntambi is Sprint Champion

The 2021 2WD rally champion early this month lost the title to Ntambi and on Boxing Day, Lubega popularly known as Pasuwa by the rally fraternity put up a spirited fight and won the Sprint in Busiika.

Ibrahim Lubega won the 2022 Boxing Day Sprint in Busiika but lost the overall 2WD title to Oscar Ntambi. 

The 2021 2WD rally champion early this month lost the title to Ntambi and on Boxing Day, Lubega popularly known as Pasuwa by the rally fraternity put up a spirited fight and won the Sprint in Busiika. 

However, Ntambi came second, collecting eight points to tally 72 points, three ahead of Lubega.

Lubega believes that next year will be a better year and his fans should keep their hope alive. 

“We won today but we did not manage to win the sprint championship, however, we shall be back in style next year,” Lubega said.

Pasuwa, the Kyaggwe boy driving a Toyota FX believes he can win next year’s titles before upgrading to the Mitsubishi Evo 9 he wants when he upgrades to the national rally championship Div I.

At the sprint, Lubega posted a total time loss of four minutes,7.32 seconds, 43 microseconds ahead of Ntambi who posted (04.08.45) and finished second overall, and Musa Mulimira who finished third after posting 04.09.33.
