How four Ugandan boxers vanished in Glasgow during Commonwealth Games

Two captains, four in total, of the national boxing team, the Bombers, have reportedly vanished in Scotland before the official closure of the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
The quadruple went missing as the team prepared for its journey back home following the Games.
Those reported missing include the Bombers' captain and welterweight Nuhu "Muzaata Batteso" Batte, and the She Bombers (national women's boxing team) welterweight Emily Nakalema.
The duo is joined by lightweight Ibrahim Kemis and flyweight Angel Katushabe, respectively.
Their disappearance means that only light heavyweight Alfred "Gorilla" Ojok and heavyweight Abdul Aziz "Ringo", the grandson of former Ugandan president Idi Amin are expected to return home from the six-member boxing squad that represented Uganda at the Games.
Vision Sport understands that while Angel Katushabe and Nakalema went missing virtually on the last days of the Games, Kemis and Batte are believed to have sneaked out of the Games Village shortly after their respective eliminations.
Kemis exited in the opening round after losing to Zambia's Albert Ngulube. Batte advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by England's Patris Mughalzai.
Team Uganda officials confirmed that the Ministry of Education and Sports will issue an official statement on the matter, with authorities expected to provide further details once official investigations and verification of the athletes' whereabouts are completed.
The latest incident adds to a growing list of Ugandan athletes who have gone missing during international sporting events in recent years, raising fresh concerns over athlete management and delegation oversight during overseas competitions.
