Gwaka, Mukova target back-to-back wins as Beach Woodball Circuit heads to Mpigi

Woodball players are set to renew their fierce rivalries this Sunday during the second National Beach Woodball Circuit in Bunjako, Mpigi District.
The competition, which serves as a crucial ranking event for national team selection, promises high-stakes action following a highly competitive final entry list.
In the men's category, Brian Gwaka, who dominated the first outing by beating rivals Darry Gilles Amanyire and Kyambogo's Trevor Omingo will be determined to maintain his winning streak. However, his competitors are eager for redemption.
Ndejje University's rising star, Gilles Amanyire, expressed confidence ahead of the showdown, saying, "I am ready for any challenge. This time I'm more than fit, and a gold medal is my target."

However, Gwaka, the Kampala International University flagship icon, is aiming to improve on his previous performance of 34 strokes across 12 gates. Yet a formidable lineup of challengers, including Bridge Byamukama, Omingo, Daniel Apita, and Samson Rugongesa, are all aiming for the top spot.
In the women's category, Joan Mukova is focused on replicating her dominant opening-leg performance. However, a deep field of challengers is eager to halt her momentum.
Top-tier players including Joyce Nalubega, Denise Nanjeru, Nalwoga Babirye, Florence Mukoya, Sandra Nabagala, Shakira Naggudi, and Jackie Naula are all aiming to displace her.

Mukova, representing the Ministry of Public Service, carded 39 strokes across 12 gates last time out but is targeting an even better score this Sunday. Her teammates and rivals, including Teddy Nasuna, Patience Ainembabazi, Christine Birungi, and Kisubi's Nalwoga Babirye, are standing in her way.
"I'm ready for the challenge. I missed the first circuit, but this time I am available and going for a win," Nalwoga warned.
