Game 7

Just two points separated the Namuwongo Blazers and the City Oilers after the first quarter.

Ten minutes later, Namuwongo were up 45-29 and headed to the most convincing victory of the 2026 NBL Finals.

Peter Obleng exploded for a game-high 22 points and Henry Ssebagala added 13 points, as Namuwongo dug deeper into their vast armoury of resources to stave off elimination.

Obleng and Ssebagala had had no impact on the Finals, and with Namuwongo on the wall, you would not have guessed this is the pair that would come to the rescue.

Obviously, the Oilers’ scouting report did not plan for them. Nyembo Fataki’s production would not have surprised the Oilers, though. The Blazers’s star forward dropped 18 points, bouncing back from two unusually poor displays.

The Oilers were led by Jonathan Komagum with 18 points and 13 rebounds but talisman Patrick Rembert was held to 14 points, finishing an inefficient 4-for-16, including 1-of-8 from three-point range.

Fayed Bbaale added 11 for the Oilers, but Joel Lukoji finished scoreless in 23 minutes.

Kevin Nyemeck had 11 for Namuwongo in his best Finals performance yet.

Game 6 is in Hoima on Saturday at 4pm.
