The Referees Disciplinary Panel (RDP) has suspended assistant referee Juma Osire for six months.

Osire cancelled a would-be second goal for Kitara and an equaliser late in the game that saw the visitors go down 2-1 to Vipers in the Uganda Premier League on Thursday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

“The Referees Disciplinary Panel (RDP) has suspended Mr.Juma Osire for six months. Osire was the first assistant referee in Match No.76 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League between Vipers SC Vs Kitara FC at St. Mary’s Stadium. In the 1st minute of additional time after the 90 minutes, Kitara FC scored a goal which was disallowed by the first assistant referee for an offside,” read a communication from the disciplinary panel.

“However, it appeared from the video footage of the incident that none of the players from Kitara FC was in an offside position. Osire is therefore suspended from officiating football at all levels for six months which comes into force immediately”.

The panel also went on to say that further investigations are ongoing due to repeated incidents.

“Following his repeated pattern of behaviour, Mr. Osire Juma is forwarded to the Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee for further investigation”.
