Kampala City BSC coach Ivan Kulika said that his team has hit the right form that deservedly makes them the new favourites for this year's FUFA Beach Soccer League title.

Going into the weekend's fixture, the city boys were in second place below St Lawrence BSC who had played a game more.

However, on Sunday, Kulika's men made a statement with two vital wins over Bukoola BSC and Kampala Junior Team ( KJT).

In the first match, a brace from the league's top goal scorer Paul Lule as well as goals from Frederick Ngalo and Paul Kato had Kampala City thrash Mutoola BSC 4-1 under very humid conditions.

Steven Nyalimo had one consolation for Mutoola BSC.

Meanwhile, Kulika's troops had to dig deep to have a 5-3 win over a stubborn Kampala Junior Team ( KJT) side thanks to goals from Paul Kato (2)  and one each from Paul Lule, Ambrose Kigozi and Hussein Ssajabi.

The two results ensure that the City Boys remain the only side that has gone seven matches without dropping points (21 points).

"We are in a driving seat due to our free goal-scoring prowess. But that will still not have us get carried away because it's still too early," said Kulika.

On the other side, Mutoola BSC's lost 2-1 to Buganda Royal.

Solomon Zziwa netted a brace for Buganda Royal as Simon Kijjo netted one for Mutoola BSC who slipped to fifth position following their two losses.

Kampala City BSC leads the standings with 21 points, St Lawrence in second position with 16 points as a park of Buganda Royal (13), Mutoola BSC (13), and MS Sand Lions (11) complete a list of teams competing for the remaining two places for the playoffs.
