Kampala BSC clinched their first-ever FUFA Beach Soccer League title after a commanding 2-0 victory over Mutoola BSC in a thrilling playoff final held on Sunday at Kasanje Beach Soccer Grounds.

Goals from Ambrose Kigozi and Joshua Leti Lubwama in the third period sealed the win for the city side, capping off a remarkable season.

The road to the title wasn’t easy. Kampala BSC had to overcome six-time champions St. Lawrence University BSC in a tense semifinal earlier in the day, ending their dominant six-year streak.

The triumph was especially sweet for Ivan Kulika’s squad, who had topped the league standings on goal difference with 44 points, edging out their final opponents.

“We deserved our victory, thanks to our relentless and tireless hard work,” said an emotional Ivan Kulika, head coach of Kampala BSC.

Meanwhile, individual accolades were also handed out:

Peter Mukwala (Mutoola BSC) – Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Ivan Kulika (Kampala BSC) – Best Coach
Rogers Omedwa – Best Goalkeeper
Joseph Ssendi (Buganda Royal) – Golden Boot Winner with 30 goals
