Uganda's table tennis coaching fraternity has received a boost after four local coaches officially attained the prestigious International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Level Two Coaching Certificate following the completion of the certification process.
The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) announced that the ITTF had confirmed the successful accreditation of Jonathan Senyonga, Regina Nakibuule, Jude Mutete and Daniel Mutabazi after they fulfilled all the requirements arising from the Level Two Coaching Course held in Uganda from July 4-9, 2022.
According to UTTA, the certification process was finalised through a follow-up exercise undertaken by the current Executive Board after assuming office. The association moved to ensure that coaches who had completed the course also met the mandatory supervision component required by the ITTF before receiving their certificates.
To oversee the practical assessment, UTTA appointed Paul Mutambuze, who supervised the candidates in line with international coaching standards. The association commended him for his commitment and professionalism, describing his contribution as instrumental in bringing the long-running certification process to a successful conclusion.
With the ITTF now ratifying the results, the four coaches have officially joined the growing list of Ugandans holding internationally recognised Level Two coaching qualifications.
UTTA has requested the newly certified coaches to liaise with the association's General Secretary to collect their certificates.
The federation believes the achievement will strengthen the country's coaching capacity and further improve player development at both grassroots and elite levels. It also congratulated the coaches on reaching an important milestone, expressing confidence that they will use the knowledge and expertise gained to help advance the growth of table tennis across Uganda.
