Motorsport should expect the best in the 2026 sporting calendar following the Federation of Motorsports of Uganda's (FMU) training programs to equip officials with different skills ahead of the rallying calendar commencing on March 1, 2026.
The training equipped its officials with various skills related to motorsport officiation.
The Saturday, February 28, 2026 training attracted over 50 officials and focused on the roles of Stewards, Clerk of the Course (COC) and Competitor Relations Officers (CRO) ahead of the competition calendar.
The one-day training workshop at Kati-Kati Restaurant was facilitated by FMU instructors David Bitalo, Kisitu Mayanja and Sporting Commission Chairman Leon Ssenyange. The training also equipped officials with knowledge on preparation to officiate at an event, how to handle petitions, communication skills and event management.
The stewards in attendance included Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, the MOSAC vice president; Stuart Mutebi, the vice president of Uganda Motor Club; Christher Lubega; Joe Burua; and Godfrey Mayanja of Southern Motorsport Club, among others.
David Bitalo, the facilitator who took the officials through the roles and duties of the stewards, also taught them how to write reports after events.
