This year marks a defining moment for rising motocross sensation Ethan Musede, as the 12-year-old prodigy unveiled a brand-new Husqvarna 85cc competition bike ahead of the 2026 season.

After dominating the 65cc class last year, Musede now graduates to the more powerful 85cc category, a significant leap that will test his skill and adaptability against seasoned rivals.

The official unveiling took place at Busiika Race Track, attended by family, friends, and sponsors including Meta Plant & Equipment Limited, agents of New Holland tractors in Uganda, alongside key backers Mata Seeds Uganda and principal sponsor Ersoy Ahmet.

Musede’s promotion comes on the heels of an impressive season opener at Garuga Race Track, where he immediately signaled his intent by battling established 85cc frontrunners Isaac Mitima and Jonathan Katende. Despite being new to the class, Musede proved he is already a serious contender.

Speaking about the transition, the young rider acknowledged the challenge ahead:
“I want to give it time. The class is very competitive and exciting, but before we go to Kalisizo, I will have bonded with the bike at least 60%.”

With renewed backing from New Holland Tractors, Mata Seeds Uganda, and strong leadership from Ersoy Ahmet, Musede has set his sights firmly on one objective—victory. Ahmet reinforced the team’s ambitions:

“This is a solid team that gives everything from the coach to the motorcycle foreman who came from Kenya. We don’t settle for second or third. The goal is always first place. Last year we finished with a championship, and that remains our standard.”

Musede’s debut in the 85cc class delivered immediate drama. After a block pass from Katende sent him to the ground, the young rider staged a remarkable recovery to finish second, with Mitima completing the podium. The thrilling contest signaled the emergence of what could become one of the season’s fiercest rivalries.

His father, Paul Musede, expressed confidence in his son’s trajectory.

“I’m impressed with his performance, finishing second behind Jonathan. I believe he could have beaten him had he not been taken down,” he said with a light-hearted laugh.

With momentum building and confidence high, all eyes now turn to March 8 at the demanding Kalisizo circuit in Greater Masaka.

If Musede’s electric start is any indication, the 85cc hierarchy may be on the verge of a dramatic shake-up, and with Ahmet’s backing, the title race promises fireworks.
