Elite High School top 4th Uganda National Water Polo Championships

Elite High School secured two victories against Lubiri and Makerere University to lead the 4th Uganda National Water Polo Championships, held at their school’s swimming pool.

Elite began with a 6-1 win over Lubiri Secondary School, followed by a 6-0 victory against Makerere University. They also received a walkover against Lubiri SS, completing an unbeaten performance in the 17&Over category.

Caesar Komakech, Fellan Cyusa, and Ian George Ssendi each scored twice for Elite against Lubiri, whose only goal came from Tariq Ssali.

Against Makerere, Elite’s goals came from Rahim Nsubuga (3), Ssendi (1), and Mayar Kamya (2), earning them six points overall. Lubiri defeated Makerere 5-2, with Silver Ogwang scoring a hat trick and Daniella Ayebazibwe adding two goals.

Makerere’s goals were scored by Raymond Mugasa and Ariho Ahumuza. Elite finished with six points, Lubiri with three, and Makerere with none.

William Sanford scored 20 goals against the three opponents, while Myron Asante scored 16, and Rahul Barvie managed 6 in what was a total dominance in the juniors’ category for the British School Rafters. Shree Sahajanand School also managed two victories, both against Elite.

First a 5-4 win before an 8-1 victory to finish on six points. Elite's only points on the day were earned through a walkover over Lubiri. Sanford leads the top scoring chart with 20 goals, followed by teammate Asante with 16, while Shree’s Rafael Mbanga finished with 11 goals.
