The two-day Gulu Rally on Independence Day and Saturday, October 10, 2026, lived up to its billing, offering a tight, highly competitive, and challenging route spread across 10 demanding stages.
Mubiru, popularly known as "Kikankane," drew first blood by winning the opening day after the first two stages. He capitalized on that early momentum on Day 2, winning three more stages to clock a winning total time of 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 46 seconds.
He finished 42.2 seconds ahead of veteran driver Moses Lumala, who took second place in 01:08:28.2, navigated by Cedric Bizabo.
