DStv is stepping boldly into a new era. Starting 5 November, MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, will unveil its most exciting DStv package refresh in years, promising even more entertainment, more sport, and unbeatable value for customers across Africa.

MultiChoice Uganda CEO Hassan Saleh unveiled the packages yesterday, joined by Julianne Mweheire, Director of Content Development and Industrial Affairs at the Uganda Communications Commission, marketer Colin Asiimwe, and Supersport presenter Andrew Kabuura.

Saleh noted that the new development is the most significant product development in the business's entire lifespan.

“We've never undertaken anything like this before. It's not merely an upgrade; it's about building the brand from the ground up. We're completely reimagining this product offering to give our customers a new level of command, options, and value,” Saleh said.

“It's about providing customers with more choices, greater value, and more control over what they watch and how they enjoy their entertainment.

“We made our excellent content even more accessible price-wise. It's not a reorganisation; it's a brand transformation. We remain Africa's premier entertainment provider, but now with a stronger focus on our customers than ever before. “With our new DStv-Expect, we're delivering enhanced value, more choices, and greater control to our subscribers,” Saleh stated.

Mweheire hailed MultiChoice for listening to customers and acting on their feedback. “This is a significant achievement for the sector and aligns with the country's direction. It's truly something to celebrate, especially for consumers,” Mweheire stated.

“At the same time, we must address a key challenge in the sector: piracy. Often, piracy arises when customer needs go unmet or when service models don't align with those needs,” she noted.

“Today's actions are a step toward addressing piracy in the industry, and I hope we will see a decline in such activities. We also recognise the importance of expanding our subscriber base.

Sustaining the business depends on reaching a sufficient number of subscribers. We need to make these services more accessible so pay TV isn't limited to a select group. Everyone should be able to choose pay TV based on preference, not price. To achieve this, we must increase adoption to make the service more affordable for all.”

Asiimwe mentioned, that with the Starter package with over 116 channels, subscribers will get a taste of the Premier League, blockbuster movies, six months earlier than before, premium local series, local news channels, and everything in between.
