In a surprising twist that has stirred excitement among Kitara FC supporters, Deo Kasozi has reclaimed his position as Club President just four months after stepping down.

The announcement was made during a press briefing held at Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala, marking a new chapter for the club’s leadership.

Kasozi had officially stepped aside on June 9, 2025, handing over the reins to ASP Gilbert Nyanja in an acting capacity.

Nyanja, a serving police officer, cited an increasingly demanding work schedule as the reason for his departure, prompting the club’s executive committee to reinstate Kasozi for a fresh three-year term.

During his brief hiatus, Kasozi served as Kitara FC’s Chief Community Resource Mobilizer, a role that kept him closely connected to the club’s grassroots efforts. His return to the presidency is seen as a strategic move to restore momentum and deepen the club’s institutional strength.

“I am glad to return as Club President,” Kasozi said. “As a club, we have our targets, and I believe my return will propel us to greater heights as we continue building this great team.”

Kasozi emphasized a shift in focus from short-term sporting achievements to long-term sustainability. “In the past, we focused on sporting results and winning trophies, but now we want to place greater emphasis on building the club as an institution that will stand the test of time,” he added.

One of the key developments on the horizon is Kitara FC’s transition to the newly constructed Hoima City Stadium, which Kasozi revealed will soon become the club’s official home ground. The move is expected to enhance fan engagement and provide a modern platform for the team’s growth.

As Kitara FC prepares for the next phase under Kasozi’s leadership, the club’s supporters and stakeholders are watching closely, hopeful that this renewed tenure will usher in a legacy of stability, ambition, and community-driven success.
