Gambia v Uganda
Uganda made it two wins in two at the ICC World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifier C in Abuja today with a five-wicket win over Lesotho.
Kenneth Waiswa led Uganda on a day of minimal exertion for Riazat Shah and his men, taking 4/18. Enock Kasaija picked 2/13 in 3.3 overs as the Cricket Cranes bowled out Lesotho, who won the toss and elected to bat, for 87 in 19.3 overs.
Uganda’s batting did the job, but it wasn’t exceptional, because they still lost six wickets for a relatively small total.
Skipper Shah was Uganda’s top scorer with 26, with Sumeet Verma and Gerald Olipa contributing 20 apiece. Alpesh Ramjani and opener Raghav Dhawan scored 11 and 10 respectively.
Uganda take on Gambia on Friday, with two more wins required to secure a top-two finish.
