Cricket: Waiswa shines as JACC stuns Kutchi

Kenneth Waiswa scored a match-best 66 not out as JACC sent two-time defending champions Kutchi Tigers crashing to their third defeat of the season, Sunday in Jinja.

Waiswa's innings were marked by skilful application as well as mental fortitude, with his knock accrued from 111 balls. 

Johnson Nyiiro added 40 runs, with Sadam Oyaga, Patel Abhay and Aloysius Odoi adding 19, 16 and 10 runs respectively for JACC, who climbed to fifth in the standings with their second win of the season.

Kutchi remained rooted in third spot and increasingly look like they will not be able to mount a successful title challenge again.

Kutchi won the toss and opted to bat first - a decision that did not pay off, with Tigers dismissed 178/10 in 44.1 of the alloted 50 overs.

Cyrus Kakuru and Mitul Pindoriya scored 54 and 50 runs respectively for Kutchi, with Mayur Hirami, and Hisan Ashami adding 20 and 14 runs respectively.

Yunus Sowobi took 3/32 for JACC , while Ivan Baidhu and Sadam Oyaga combined for four wickets.
