Ceylon Lions came within one game of winning the national title in 2025. Two games into the new season, they already have two-thirds of the number of defeats they recorded last season.

Sunday in Jinja, Ceylon, and JACC will hope to get off the mark when they face each other in the gold division of Cricket Uganda’s Men’s 50 Overs League.

Ceylon and JACC are two of the four winless teams in the top flight, with Mukono and Aboojo the other two.

Mukono and Aboojo are also in action against each other at Serenity. Aboojo won six games last year in the top flight on their way to a fourth-placed finish.

Mukono were in the second tier and, like Aboojo, have played just one game so far this season.

Kutchi Tigers and Tornado Bees lead the early standings, having both made strong starts with 2-0 records.

In the silver division, Avengers face Wanderers in Entebbe, while Soroti take on SKLPS at Florida.
