Miyagi stood out for Steven Tikolo’s side, but this was a mismatch from beginning to end. Still, a 10-wicket victory was not exactly on the cards, especially as the Cricket Cranes had just won by the exact score the previous day, against The Gambia.

Juma Miyagi plundered 5/7 and Uganda sealed back-to-back 10-wicket victories at the ICC Men’s World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier C in Abuja, progressing to next year’s Africa Regional Final.

Miyagi stood out for Steven Tikolo’s side, but this was a mismatch from beginning to end. Still, a 10-wicket victory was not exactly on the cards, especially as the Cricket Cranes had just won by the exact score the previous day, against The Gambia.

So then, a historic moment for the Cricket Cranes with a second straight 10-wicket victory, and this one sealed the ticket to the Africa Regional Qualifier.

Mozambique won the toss and decided to bat, at which point the proceedings shifted in Uganda’s favour. Miyagi took over, Enock Kasaija joined the party with 4/4 in 2.2 overs, and Alpesh Ramjani took the other wicket as Mozabique were all out for 19 in 7.2 overs.

Robinson Obuya scored a game-best 16 not out, with Raghav Dhawan adding six for Cricket Cranes, who take on hosts Nigeria in the championship-decider.
