2026 NBL Final Playoffs
Men
Oilers v Blazers 9pm
(Oilers lead series 3-2)
City Oilers are one win away from winning their 11th National Basketball League title.
The Oilers lead Namuwongo Blazers 3-2 in the best-of-seven final and will become champions if they win Game Six on Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
For the Oilers, the task is simple: win once more and lift the trophy.
For Namuwongo, there is no room for error. A win will level the series at 3-3 and force a deciding Game Seven.
The final has been closely fought from the start. Namuwongo won Game One 73-67 before the Oilers won Game Two 79-75.
The Oilers then won Game Three 76-72 in overtime to take a 2-1 lead. Namuwongo answered with a 74-70 win in Game Four to level the series.
Game Five again went down to the wire before the Oilers pulled away late.
Patrick Rembert was the difference for the Oilers, scoring a game-high 28 points, while adding nine assists and seven rebounds. Joel Lukoji scored 14 points, and Titus Lual added 10.
Rembert will again be a key player on Wednesday. Namuwongo's defence must find a way to limit his scoring and playmaking if the defending champions are to stay alive.
The Blazers will also need a better finish after letting Game Five slip away in the final minutes. They have already shown that they can respond when under pressure, having come back from 2-1 down to level the series.
The Oilers, meanwhile, will be looking to finish the job and reclaim the title they lost last year.
