Christopher Monday voted to USSSA executive, replaces deceased Bro Kato

The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) executive vacancy that has been existing, has been filled.

The vacancy came into existence with the passing on of Bro John Bosco Kato in August, and in the association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, the assembly decided to fill up the position.

In the resultant election, Christopher Monday, the head teacher of St Mary’s College Rushoroza came top of the other two contestants to take the position.

Monday gunnered 50 votes compared to Onesmas Rukundo and Joshua Kagaba who got 30 and 20 votes respectively.

At the time of his untimely death, Bro Kato was the head teacher of Bishop Comboni College Kambuga and at the same time the USSSA representative for the Western region and also chairman of the Association of Secondary Schools Head Teachers in Uganda (ASSHU) for Kigezi region.

He was a member of the catholic religious institute of the Brothers of Christian instruction who served at Bishop Comboni for 21 years.

Monday, who also comes from the Kigezi region, now completes the USSSA executive setup, havin joined USSSA Western representatives Daglous Kabwegyere and Elizabeth Tindimwebwa.
