FUFA Women Super League champions Kampala Queens have appointed former KCCA FC assistant coach Charles ‘Kadidi’ Ssenyange, on a two-year contract as their head coach.
“Kampala Queens FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Nsanziro Sam Charles Ssenyange ‘Kadidi’ as the team head coach with immediate effect on a two-year contract deal.” The club announced on Wednesday.
Ssenyange replaces Hamuza Lutalo who guided the team to a league title last season to secure a ticket to the Women’s CAF Champions League zonal qualifiers for the first time in their history.
The reasons for Lutalo’s exit from the club after his huge success last season remain unknown to date.
Kampala Queens have been busy in the transfer window strengthening their squad where they have signed Fazila Ikwaput, and Shakirah Nyinagahirwa from Kazembe Muslim Ladies, Catherine Nagadya, and Patience Nabulobi, both from Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga on short-term deals.
The club also recently entered into a partnership with KCCA FC as their official women’s team for the next three years and will play their games at Lugogo next season.
Ssenyange will be assisted by former Uganda Cranes midfielder Tonny Mawejje and Shafic Mutebi as first and second assistants.
The Queens of Soccer have been in camp with Mawejje preparing for the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA zonal qualifiers and Ssenyange will join the team immediately.
Uganda will host these zonal qualifiers at both the KCCA Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo and FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru between August 13-30.
Kampala Queens are in Group A with CBE (Ethiopia), Yei Join Stars (South Sudan), FAD (Djibouti, and Bujja Queens (Burundi).
