Byekwaso named Uganda Cranes interim head coach

Morley Byekwaso has been named Uganda Cranes interim head coach for a period running from the 3rd- 31st of this month.

A statement released by FUFA on Wednesday said that the former KCCA boss will oversee the Cranes during the International break where they will play two friendly matches against Mali and Zambia between the 13th and 17th in Bamako and Dubai respectively.

FUFA also indicated that Byekwaso will name the squad for these friendlies not later than Wednesday evening.

During the interim role, he will be assisted by URA coach Fred Muhumuza, Billy Kiggundu as the goalkeeping coach, and Felix Ayobo as the fitness coach.

The Uganda Cranes job fell vacant last month when head coach Milutin Sredojević was sacked after Uganda failed to qualify failing to qualify for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations
