The organisers of the MTN Busoga Masaza Cup have decided to move this year's MTN Busoga Masaza Cup finals which are scheduled for December 30 to Kakindu Stadium.

This was confirmed by the Busoga Kingdom Sports Minister Amin Nkono Bbosa during a meeting with the organizing committee at Bugembe Kingdom quarters.

The minister stated that after a long wait, his committee saw it necessary to shift this year's finals to the ground that first hosted the first three editions.

"Kakindu Stadium will best suit our fans because it's where they will sit comfortably. This will accommodate a much bigger crowd with its sitting capacity," said the Sports Minister.

The competition has reached the quarterfinal stage with two high-profile matches lined up this Saturday at Bugembe Stadium.

The 2017 champions Butembe will be facing tournament favourites Bugweri in the early kick-off at midday.

Kyabazinga's chiefdom Bugabula faces an uphill task against defending champions Bukooli Namayingo in the late afternoon kick-off match at 3 pm.

The other quarterfinal matches will held on Monday where Buzaaya will be facing two times champions Kigulu while Busiki faces Bunha.

The winner between Kigulu and Bugabula faces the winner between Butembe and Bugweri in the semi-finals on December 15 for a place in the finals.

Both third-place playoff and finals will be held on December 30 at Kakindu Stadium.

MTN Uganda and Haojue Motorcycle have injected in over sh500m in this year's edition where prize money will head to all semi-finalists.

The winner of this year's competition will take home a trophy, medals, and cash prize money of Shs 12m, the finalists Shs 8m, then the other cash prizes will have the third team bank home Shs 5m while the forth placed takes Shs 3m.

The top goal scorer bags home a brand-new Haojue motorcycle.
