Light middleweight Nerrick ‘Bulabe’ Tumusiime vows to keep his unbeaten run intact in this year’s Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) as he faces a tricky Isaac Kasasa this Saturday, August 15, at the MTN Arena in Lugogo.
The Bulabe-Kasasa showdown is set to revive a long-standing school boxing rivalry between Entebbe Senior Secondary School and Kololo High School, with the two fighters meeting in the co-main bout of Week 8 of Season 5 of the UBCL.
“My target is to win the light middleweight title undefeated by the end of this season. I have prepared well for this season and, trust me, you are yet to witness the best from me.”
Bulabe, who has emerged as one of the UBCL's standout performers this season, is confident of extending his winning run and has warned Kasasa to expect an aggressive performance.
The Kololo High BC hard puncher heads into this bout with considerable momentum, having knocked out his previous two opponents, East Coast Boxing Club's Depark Mawanda and Zebra Boxing Club's George Segawa.
Kasasa, on the other hand, suffered a third-round brutal knockout to fan favourite Ukasha Matovu.
In the day’s main card, KCCA BC’s Paul ‘Mad Boxer’ Rascara takes on Uganda Police’s Simon Sande in a welterweight contest, with the former yet to lose a bout and topping the welterweight charts this season.
Other undercard thrillers on the day will see COBAP BC’s bantamweight Moses Kimera take on Katwe BC’s Seon Amanyire, and Lukanga BC’s light heavyweight Richard Kasujja face Police BC’s Emma Komodo, among others.
