Kampala City BSC coach Ivan Kulika was left frustrated after his depleted side got thrashed by four-time defending champions, St Lawrence BSC 11-4 as this season's first round came to an end on Sunday at The FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Kampala City BSC had gone eight matches unbeaten in the league before their Sunday loss.

A Kampala City BSC team without Nicolas Mwere and Douglas Muganga fell prey to St Lawrence BSC who had both Joshua Lubwama and Brian Nkuubi score hattricks.

Three-time league MVP Baker Lukooya and Ronald Magwali both netted a brace as Jonathan Kikonyogo wrapped up the win with a single goal in the closing minutes.

Paul Lule(2), Fredrick Ngalo (1), and Herbert Onyango (1) had netted for the early league leaders.

"I had only seven players on the day without options for substitutes and that killed my game plan. It was a lesson to pick from because this game exposed the loopholes that I have to work on when facing St Lawrence BSC who played a better match," said Kulika.

Earlier, St Lawrence BSC had defeated another title challenger Mutoola BSC 9-6 in a game that had Ronald Magwali net a hattrick, Brian Nkuubi (2), Joshua Lubwama (2) as the holders leapfrogged the league leaders from the summit with 25 points, one point better than Kampala City BSC.

Elsewhere, Buganda Royal (18 points) got a setback after suffering a shock 6-2 loss to bottom-placed Wolves BSC.

The royals were replaced in third place by MS Sand Lions(18 points) who thrashed Wolves 9-6.
