Heavyweight boxer, Shafik Kiwanuka, has vowed to teach Argentina’s Nestor Fabian Insaurralde a lesson when they face off on Friday at the International University of East Africa auditorium in Kansanga.
The two heavyweights will be vying for the vacant Universal Boxing Council (UBC) title in a do-or-die fight.
Kiwanuka’s last fight was in October last year in the draw with South Africa’s Chris Thompson in Tanzania and the World Boxing Federation Africa heavyweight champion is optimistic he’ll put Fabian to the sword in what is expected to be a ten-round thriller.
“I am back to give my fans what I have in stock. Like always, the Killing Machine is ready to rumble, I can’t wait to win this fight,” Kiwanuka said.
“I have trained so hard for this fight, I can’t wait to give this Argentine a lesson he will never forget for the rest of his life,” he added.
The pugilist popularly known as ‘Killing Machine’ and who made his professional debut in 2018, is yet to lose a single fight, winning three and drawing once.
Of the four, two ended in knock-outs ― stopping Kenya’s Allan Mwarara before his ferocious knockout against DR Congo’s Tyson Mbikayi within 35 seconds in 2018.
His opponent Fabian, however, beats him for experience, coming into this contest on the back of 32 professional fights, winning 16 in 15 knockouts and drawing once.
Latib Muwonge will face Kenyan Emmanuel Chvoli for the vacant WBF African Junior Welterweight title in the co-main fight event.
UPDAF’s Lt Aldin Muzei faces Albert Kimario, another Kenyan for the vacant Africa WBF Continental Featherweight title, SFC’s Justine Okello battles Sula Katumba for the national welterweight title while Mercy Oliver Acayo will tussle it out with Salima Tibesigwa for the national bantamweight title.
