Amus College School head coach Frank Anyau is optimistic about showcasing a good performance in this year's edition of the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Anyau, who witnessed the team's poor performance during the previous edition in Kakamega, Kenya, where they ended in the semifinals, noted his readiness to lift this year's girls' football trophy in the tournament that runs from August 13 to 23 in Morogoro, Tanzania.
"This will be our fourth time participating in the East Africa Games. In the previous editions, we were eliminated in the semifinals; this time, we are aiming to reach the finals," Anyau said in Morogoro.

Anyau said Amus College was not travelling merely to participate but to compete for the championship and proudly represent Uganda on the regional stage.
"We want to carry Uganda's flag high in Tanzania. We want to represent the country well and compete for the title," he added.
He said the absence of St Noa Girls School, the previous champions hosted in Kakamega, Kenya, has given his side an open space to become the new champions in the tournament.
"Since the champions did not come for this noble championship due to unavoidable circumstances, we shall not leave the gap uncovered. We shall be in a position to replace and cover the space," said Anyau.

Ugandan representatives have been drawn into Pool B alongside reigning Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national champions St Joseph's Girls, Kitale, popularly known as JOGA, as well as Tanzania's Alliance and Kilombero.
For St Joseph's Girls, the draw presents a stern test as they seek to reclaim the East African crown. However, the Kenyan champions will have to negotiate a difficult group featuring two Ugandan sides that have arrived in Morogoro with ambitions of going all the way.
Meanwhile, Nyakach Girls have been placed in Pool A alongside Rwanda's PSB Huye, Tanzania's Fountain Gate and Ziba, and Uganda's Jinja Progressive Academy and reigning Ugandan national girls' football champions Rines Secondary School.
A new champion is guaranteed in this year's competition after Uganda's defending champions St Noa Girls failed to feature in the championship.
Harriet Apolot, the first vice president of Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA), said Uganda has this time represented 2,000 athletes and 300 officials, surpassing the previous record of 1,625 athletes sent to Kakamega, Kenya, in 2026. This unprecedented number underscores Uganda's growing dominance in regional sports.
Apolot, also a prominent FEASSA leader, expressed confidence in the team's ability to secure a sixth overall FEASSA title.
The 2026 FEASSA Games commenced on August 12, 2026, with official reporting, featuring teams from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
