Calvin Opio, the games teacher at Amus College School, commended the unity and skill his players showcased from the start of the league to its climax while speaking to Vision Sports.
"This title is about everybody, the players on and off the court, the technical team, the management, and everyone else. If you look at the way we started the season, reaching the final was not easy, but we managed to overcome our competitors," Opio said.
Opio is optimistic that since the school has been promoted to Serie B, its focus will now be on earning promotion to Serie A next year.
Stephen Onyait, chairperson of the Upper Eastern Volleyball Association Clubs, expressed joy at the performance of the region's clubs.
"I'm impressed by how teams performed this time. Now we just need to make sure that mentally we take care of ourselves, stay consistent, and deliver both offensively and defensively," Onyait said.
He called upon tertiary institutions to join the league, which he said would expose talent among students from various institutions.
George Aporu, General Secretary of the Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF), encouraged teams joining Serie B to start preparing early to avoid relegation.
"I do encourage the newly promoted teams to Serie B to ensure they start mobilizing resources ahead of the league so that we in the federation minimize walkovers," Aporu added.
