Ajok wins MTN Quarterly Tees Golf Tournament in Entebbe
Two years into her golfing career and playing off a 28 handicap, Ajok secured her first overall win, leading a field of 181 competitors.

Sheila Ajok posted a 65 nett to win the September MTN Quarterly Tees Golf Tournament at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
Two years into her golfing career and playing off a 28 handicap, Ajok secured her first overall win, leading a field of 181 competitors.
“This is my first overall win, so the feeling is above the moon. It's a really good feeling after a lot of hard work and patience,” Ajok said after receiving her prizes from MTN Chief Finance Officer Andrew Bugembe and Senior Manager Corporate Performance Martha Bisamaza.
“I had a good round compared to how I have been playing. I putted better and scored better on difficult holes, so it was a significant improvement from previous rounds,” said Ajok, who finished with three pars and nine bogeys.
Other podium finishes included Saidi Kirarira, who led the men’s Group A with 68 nett, ahead of Lino Anguzu with 70.
In Group B, Musa Baguma (66 nett) and Ronald Pulle (69) were top performers, while Bryan Wakwale and Moses Ssebugwawo, both with 68 nett, led Group C.
In the ladies’ division, Jovia Tugume led Group A with a score of 86, while Peace Hellen and Suzan Knight remain top contenders in Group B. They continue to lead the Order of Merit in the monthly and quarterly events leading up to the MTN Tee of Tees in December, where the top golfers with the best eight rounds of the year will be recognised.

Off the course, Michael Monne, Louis Tumukunde, James Joash Okema, Esther Aganyira, John Byabagambi, and Herbert Kamuntu each won sh200,000 and crates of Castle Lite beer for excelling in trivia leading up to the event. Participants who stood out for their dress at the 19th hole were also recognised.
Earlier, Ronald Rugumayo claimed sh4 million, the largest share of the sh20 million prize pool, after winning the Pro Tees with a 16-under 268 over 72 holes. Abraham Ainamani received sh2.4 million for second place.
