Soldier confesses to absenting himself from duty in Somalia

Under the law, a person subject to military law, who absences him or herself without leave commits an offence and is, on conviction, liable to imprisonment not exceeding four years.

A 45-year-old Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier has confessed to having left mission duties in Somalia to Uganda without official leave.
