Why traffickers exploit babies for begging; prime suspects mentioned

The children are intentionally left unkempt to appear dirty and vulnerable. Those with running noses that attract flies are the hot cakes. This is intended to appeal to the emotions of the passers-by. Children who fail to collect money get isolated, are taken to the “sin bin” and mercilessly walloped. Others are denied food.

Most trafficked children are received and registered on arrival at Katwe-Kinyoro slum in Kampala, before being distributed to the street.
