Costly incarceration: Elderly inmates plead for more support
Frank Baine, the Uganda Prisons' publicist, says the prisons department received a budgetary allocation of sh480 billion from Government for the financial year 2023/2024, but that they lack a specific fund to cater for the elderly prisoners.
