Acholi songs, Okot p'Bitek's poetry win PhD at Gulu University

Okumu in his thesis examined Okot p'Bitek's creative use of the Acholi Oral Songs as intertexts in the two mentioned books. He argued that the Acoli oral songs actualized three main forms such as praise, satire and lament conveyed poetically through Proverbs, symbols and imageries.
