KAMPALA - Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba recently drafted Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oboth and his deputy Thomas Tayebwa into the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) hierarchy, putting the civic organisation into a better position to determine the House politics and direction.

The PLU chairman, who is known simply by his initials MK, also brought some senior Cabinet figures, and private sector voices into one mobilisation architecture.

“A movement that stays at the level of mobilisation and rallies eventually runs out of steam. It can die,” Uganda Media Centre executive director Alan Kasujja, one of the members of the new PLU central committee, told New Vision Online.
