Leaders of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in West Nile have endorsed Nathan Nandala Mafabi as the party's presidential candidate in the 2026 general elections.
Led by Arua Central Division mayor Khemis Muzaid, FDC supporters believe Mafabi is the game-changer the party and the country need.
Swaleh Musema, the FDC parliamentary aspirant for Terego West Constituency, described Mafabi as a tested and trusted leader within FDC ranks.
John Anguyo, the FDC aspirant for Vurra County, expressed optimism that a change in leadership would make Uganda a better place for all.
Some of the FDC youth also backed their senior leaders and endorsed Mafabi.
The FDC leaders and supporters pledged to reclaim their political strongholds in West Nile, particularly in Terego, Arua city, Maracha, and other areas in the region.
The Najjanankumbi-based party, currently engulfed in a maelstrom that has caused a severe split in the party for almost a year, announced in January it would elect the party’s presidential flagbearer in June this year.
