NTUNGAMO - The senior presidential advisor on agriculture, Peace Rugambwa, has rallied the residents of Ntungamo district in western region to vote for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential flagbearer and incumbent, Yoweri Museveni, in the 2026 election.
Making a case for Museveni's re-election, she said the NRM leader's government has ushered in peace and maintained the stability of Uganda.
Rugambwa made the remarks during a campaign rally at Nyabugando playgrounds in Ntungamo on Wednesday (October 15).
She also said Museveni has championed the social economic transformation of the citizens and praised him as a leader who brings all religious and cultural leaders together to work for the development of the country.
The presidential advisor, accompanied by her husband Bernard Rugambwa, is mobilising support for candidate Museveni ahead of his campaign trail in the western region.

On Thursday, Museveni — who at times has to pause his campaigns to attend to state duties — held rallies in Terego and Yumbe districts in West Nile sub-region.
He is facing competition from seven other candidates in an all-male presidential race. They are;

▪️ Nathan Nandala Mafabi (Forum for Democratic Change - FDC)
▪️ Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Gregory Mugisha Muntu (Alliance for National Transformation - ANT)
▪️ Elton Joseph Mabirizi (Conservative Party - CP)
▪️ Mubarak Munyagwa (Common Man’s Party - CMP)
▪️ Frank Bulira Kabinga (Revolutionary People’s Party - RPP)
▪️ Robert Kasibante (National Peasants Party - NPP)

In Ntungamo, Christopher Tumusiime, the LC1 chairperson of Nyabugando, said President Museveni should be give another chance to complete projects like roads and water production infrastructure.
Resident Peter Baguma said that, among all the candidates, it is only Museveni who is capable of uniting all Ugandans and therefore, the NRM should continue ruling without interruption.
Stella Ayebale, also a resident of Ntungamo, thanked Museveni for championing Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE) and said he deserves to be re-elected.
