MASAKA - President Yoweri Museveni has fulfilled key election pledges made to clerics in Masaka during the 2021 general elections, delivering vehicles to Catholic and Muslim institutions.
State House comptroller Jane Barekye presented two new Costas and double-cabin pickups to the Masaka Diocese and the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Kadhi in the presence of NRM party officials and local leaders on December 21, 2025.
The vehicles were officially handed over at the Masaka Diocese headquarters and the Kitovu Blessed Sacrament Church. National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag-bearer for Masaka City, Justine Namere, and Masaka Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Ahmed Washaki praised the religious leaders for their role in maintaining peace during the elections.
Masaka city NRM chairperson Rogers Bulegeya praised the clerics' “selfless services” in fostering unity.
