LANGO - 2026 General Election Presidential candidate Maj. Gen. (rtd) Mugisha Muntu has unveiled the party’s sole flag-bearer in all the eight districts of Lango region, which is dominated by Uganda Peoples’ Congress (UPC) party supporters.
Muntu, who held a campaign rally at Bala town council in Kole district on November 13, 2025, formally introduced Bosco Amangole, who is contesting for the Kole South constituency Member of Parliament seat in the 2026 General Election.

Muntu reaffirmed ANT’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and inclusive governance. He highlighted that Amangole was chosen after an extensive consultative process that included party delegates from Otuke, Alebtong, Lira, Kwania, Apac, Kole, Dokolo, and Amolatar districts.
“Tackling corruption in Uganda is our main target, and we have to do it with honest men and women working at the ministerial level. I am here today to introduce to you a young man, Amangole, whom you should trust with your vote,” Muntu said.
The ex-army commander added that Amongole was trusted and contested on 'our ticket in 2021 and was not swayed by wind but kept resilient and focused to a transformed leadership to usher in a trusted change that this country deserves'.

Amangole pledged to champion road rehabilitation, agricultural modernisation, and youth employment in Lango.
“We are not just a political outfit, we are a movement for change,” he told the audience, urging citizens to rally behind ANT’s vision of a shared modern economy.
Muntu’s Lango tour, which started on Monday in Otuke and Alebtong, has seen him decrying corruption, poor service delivery, and systemic poverty across the country.

Contesting for the second time in the region, Amangole, 47, was born in Bala town council in Kole South, Kole district, to Ongua Nikanoru.
He warns that Uganda risks instability similar to Haiti if systemic injustice and impunity persist. “Our task is to end this regime of impunity and restore discipline and honesty in government,” Muntu asserted.
Muntu’s caravan is set to continue through Teso sub‑regions today, November 14, aiming to consolidate support before the January 2026 polls.

Who is Amangole?
Contesting for the second time in the region, Amangole, 47, was born in Bala town council in Kole South, Kole district, to Ongua Nikanoru.
Amangole attended Bala Primary School, Bala Senior Secondary School, and Standard High Mengo (now Standard High Zana) for S6. He later joined Cavendish University, where he graduated with a diploma in human resource management.
Currently, Amagole is a self-employed businessman who is known for designing roadside posters for local businesses in the area after trying to acquire a professional job for many years in vain.

Amangole is married to Collin Arao with four children: Ricky Ongu, Mathew Olwa, Nicky Ayugi, and Gift Akello.
Education, Muntu’s priority in KoleMuntu pledged to invest a lot in the education sector, which he said transforms people’s mindsets on how they perceive development.
“To be honest with you, transforming this region requires deliberate investment in education, constructing many schools in the region and standardising our education curriculum to benefit both the rich and the poor,” he said.

My government shall implement the Japan model, where even those who do not have enough natural resources, like Uganda, can create a functioning knowledge base that is required to facilitate transfer of technology and innovation to transform our economy.
“Under my government, investing in education shall be the game-changer for Acholi. I promise to construct vocational institutions to create jobs with low levels of education,” he insisted.
Amidst constructing a road network throughout the region, Muntu promised tractor-hire schemes and revolutionised agriculture to create jobs for the majority.
“Uganda needs to invest in agriculture, which is engaged by many – over 70% if the government is to start creating jobs at the family level,” he said.
